As a consequence of the intensification, in Argentina an accumulation has been detected in soils of more than 220 kg / ha of nitrates, 2500 ppm of phosphorus and 261 kg / ha of zinc. It is common for groundwater to detect an excess of nitrates (180 mg / L) and microbiological contamination. (Herrero MA, 2008) This study carried out in the Pampean basin, specifically in the province of Santa Fe and Córdoba, for one year and according to weather conditions. The total number of establishments sampled was 34 dairy farms. The results obtained from nitrate ion showed that at least 58.2% of the dairy farms are below the value set by the CAA with regard to human consumption. With respect to animal consumption, only 4.5 % is above 500mg / L, level water should not consumed directly by the animal. With regard to the nitrite ion, values higher than that established by the CAA (<0.10mg / L) were observed in the spring-summer period. Although these preliminary results correspond to a representative sample of the almost 5000 dairy farms, it would be interesting to correlate them with the variables: proximity of the drilling to the different sources of contamination, management practices such as fertilization, slopes around the water extraction wells, loading animal, dynamics of nitrogen mineralization, soil structure, characteristics of aquifers, effluent management system.
