Guidelines for Submission
Manuscripts can be submitted until the expiry of the deadline. Submissions must be previously unpublished and may not be under consideration elsewhere.

By submitting your manuscripts to the special issue, you are acknowledging that you accept the rules established for publication of manuscripts, including agreement to pay the Article Processing Charges for the manuscripts. Manuscripts should be submitted electronically through the online manuscript submission system at http://www.sciencepublishinggroup.com/login. All papers will be peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal and will be listed together on the special issue website.

The management of the totality of information concerning different phases of a building can be supported on a common environment. This concept is the basis of the technology Building Information Modelling (BIM). Although is still at an early stage of development and implementation, the BIM is one of the most promising technologies for the integration of collaborators in the project, and consequently to make efficiency savings and to improve the accuracy and coordination of documentation. The dissemination and research of BIM should be oriented to two main focuses: education and practice. The basic BIM technology must constitutes one of the essential tools in student's training, helping them, in the future, to facilitate their integration in a demanding and competitive work environment and for that universities and technical height schools play a prominent role. BIM can be seen as the process of generating, storing, managing and exchanging building information supported on interoperability and reusable capacities allowed by appropriate hardware and software. Several directions of research, education, training and application concerning BIM implementation in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) are topics to be reported.

Aims and Scope:

1. Introduction of BIM concept and practice in education;
2. Development of architectural and structural BIM models;
3. Generation of building service (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing, MEP) BIM models;
4. Conflict and clash detection analyses;
5. Construction planning and management;
6. Interoperability enhances and limitations;
7. Standard exchange platforms;
8. Study cases.
