Introduction
Todays, application of green energies is developing in chemical industries to reduce the cost and emissions introduced by processes which are fed with fossil energies. These kind of energies are utilized in such fields as electricity generation, hot water/space heating, motor fuels, and rural (off-grid) energy services. According to the literatures, green energies cover more than 20% of energy resources, recently. Optimization of technologies which work with renewable energies is considered by chemical engineering to improve the process, technically leads to lower total cost of production. This special issue is the chemical processes which utilize or are linked to solar energy, Biomass Conversion, Photovoltaic Technology Conversion, Solar Thermal Applications, Wind Energy Technology and Desalination.

National renewable energy markets are projected to continue to grow strongly in the next decade and beyond. While many renewable energy projects are large-scale, renewable technologies are also suited to rural and remote areas and developing countries, where energy is often crucial in human development. Green energy has the ability to lift the poorest nations to new levels of prosperity.

Aims and scopes:
This special issue focuses upon three aspects of chemical engineering considering the green energies: chemical reaction engineering, environmental chemical engineering, and materials synthesis and processing.
