Africa is hardly known by the rest of the world. Many people consider Africa as a country, not a continent. Those who know something about Africa knows hugely biased information emanating from either archaic travelers’ account or mainstream medias that portray Africa negatively. But Africa has a lot of things that needs to be told to the world and researched by scholars.
Society, culture and politics are some of the topic that needs to be studied and researched. Moreover. The topic is a very hot issue in contemporary Africa. Africans are flooding out to the rest of the world, their culture is changing continuously and the politics is getting more complex and dynamic due to internal and external pressures. However, the literatures and knowledge that the best of us knows about Africa is as if the continent is still full of jungles and traditional people residing inside the jungle.
Africa however is changing dramatically. The topic therefore can trigger researchers to contribute their thoughts about it. Moreover, the special issue suggested above is researchable topic especially for anthropologists, sociologists, historians, political and international relations scholars. As a social anthropologist who did numerous researches on the topic, the special issue could attract many researchers who want to forward their research.
