Introduction
Advanced Carbon Material (including graphene, CNTS, hierarchical carbon and fullerences) are backbone of innovations in material sciences and technology. It is said, 20th century was belonging to plastics and 21st century will be century of Graphene (one of type of advanced carbon materials) due to outstanding physical properties of graphene. Hereby, Editors will recommend a special issue on “Advanced Carbon Materials: Synthesis, Properties and Applications” due to versatile properties and applications of advanced carbon materials. This special issue will consider manuscripts focusing the recent advancements in advanced carbon materials especially novel optimized fabrication methods, their hybrids, enhanced properties and efficient applications. With high thermal conductivity (5000 W/mK), high electrical conductivity (106 S·m-1), high young’s modulus (1 TPa) and high intrinsic strength (130 GPa), graphene is considered as an ideal candidate to improve the electrical, mechanical and thermal properties of metals, polymers and ceramics for applied applications. Among many kinds of graphene materials, graphite oxide derived graphene based hybrids has a significant role for enhanced properties of hybrids because of tunable surface functionalization, potential for large-scale production and applications. The applications can be categorized in the field of high performance super capacitors, superior energy storage, and electrolytes, catalysts, conductive, electrochemically active, and dielectrics materials due to enhanced physical properties. Therefore, Editors strongly emphasize special issue on this emerging category of advanced carbon materials.
