In the last decades, the advances in the synthesis of nanomaterials and their characterization at nanoscale level have opened up a new series of applications. The nanosized luminescent materials have emerged and gained great interest in different domains ranging from ionizing radiation detection, medicine, high physics to photovoltaic solar cells. This interdisciplinary issue is addressed to the recent research of luminescent materials including progress on the synthesis with original chemical and physical properties, for various applications.
This special issue aims to attract the submission of high-quality original research papers and review articles, reporting on recent advances and developments in the field of synthesis and characterization of luminescent materials for different applications. Articles that highlight new luminescent materials and rare earth doped materials are of particular interest. Potential topics include but are limited to the following:
